About Terry McDougall:
Terry Boyle McDougall is an Executive & Career Coach and CEO of Terry B. McDougall Coaching. She helps high-achieving professionals remove obstacles that keep them stuck so they can enjoy more success and satisfaction in their lives and careers. Before becoming a coach, Terry was a long-time corporate marketing executive where she led teams, developed strategies and advised senior leaders to drive business results. She is the author of Winning the Game of Work: Career Happiness and Success on Your Own Terms. She is also the host of the Marketing Mambo podcast.

“Living” in that Busy Professional or Corporation world, especially when you’re a high achiever, can definitely suck all the joy out of your life if you’re not aware of some key ways to turn it around to find your power and joy. Instead we find ourselves in survival mode, and don’t know how to turn it around for a happier more balanced life.
Terry shares some ways that simple mindset changes can bring more clarity so that we can start to envision how to get to that work life we want and set some clear goals to take us there.
One thing Terry say that was impactful to me is that we’re often thought of as human doings and not human beings, but when we put that into the right perspective and begin to value what we bring to the table, and the areas where we have an impact and are extremely valuable, our perspective changes.
We also discuss our work/home balance and how to set boundaries. This is so important. We have to learn we are worthy – worthy of taking time to ourselves and to fill up our energy cup so that we can flow into our families, give of ourselves with plenty to spare, and live a great home life with joy and confidence.
