About Kelly Kessler:

Kelly Kessler is a licensed physical therapist, wellness coach, and the founder of Optimal You Health & Wellness, LLC. Kelly teaches women who have a history of an eating disorder how to regulate their nervous system to achieve relief from chronic pain.

Inspired by her own journey of recovering from an eating disorder and chronic back pain, Kelly has helped many women harness their profound ability to shift from survival mode to thriving. Kelly uses an integrative approach to healing including a personalized audit, education, community support, and actionable steps to create long-lasting results.

Kelly believes each and every one of us have a powerful and innate ability to heal. However, as we go through life, there are so many outside influences that dull our energy and disempower us. We often look outside ourselves for answers and something or someone to “fix” us, but this only perpetuates the mindset that “we are not enough.”


What We Discuss In This Episode:

Kelly shares what inspired her to work with women in eating disorders and chronic pain by sharing her own journey through years of this condition. Feeling helpless, she delved into ways she could change the situation she found herself in.

Kelly shares the connection between eating disorders and chronic pain as well as how she approaches healing from chronic pain without the necessity of pain relievers or medication.

We also discuss what is important to understand when it comes to chronic pain? Many know they’re in pain but they don’t know there are alternative solutions for them.

Lastly, Kelly discusses how her own system differs from other systems for chronic pain out there. She believes in the importance of recognizing small successes to shift the way you think about pain and movement. The brain is highly adaptable and by providing the appropriate tools and fostering a more positive mindset, we have the power to become a better version of ourselves.

Often, with chronic pain conditions, trauma plays a significant role, whether it be a physical injury or years of cumulative stress. Kelly’s therapeutic approach promotes relaxation of the mind and body to allow healing to occur. She passionately believes everyone has the ability to heal – and stresses that there is help and there is hope.
