About Dr. Glenn Livingston:
Glenn Livingston, Ph.D. is a veteran psychologist and was the long-time CEO of a multi-million dollar consulting firm that has serviced several Fortune 500 clients in the food industry. Glenn has sold $30,000,000 of marketing consulting services over the course of his career. You may have seen his (or his company’s) previous work, theories, and research in major periodicals like The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Sun Times, The Indiana Star Ledger, The NY Daily News, American Demographics, or any of the other major media outlets you see on this page. You may also have heard him on ABC, WGN, and/or CBS radio, or UPN TV.
Disillusioned by what traditional psychology had to offer overweight and/or food obsessed individuals, Dr. Livingston spent several decades researching the nature of bingeing and overeating via work with his own patients AND a self-funded research program with more than 40,000 participants. Most important, however, was his own personal journey out of obesity and food prison to a normal, healthy weight and a much more lighthearted relationship with food.
What We Discuss In This Episode:
In this intimate and frank discussion, Dr. Glenn shares changes he made in his life for the better. As a formerly obese psychologist who spent years working for the food industry in addition to seeing patients, he goes on to discuss some ideas on how to stop these patterns and how he changed his own trajectory and career path to help others like himself conquer these prevalent and unhealthy eating habits.
He shares how you can stop eating chocolate before you kill someone – and then goes on to share his own personal story of his many years of food addictions, and how he changed his career to make the changes necessary for his own his out-of-control eating habits.
We go on to discuss why overeating, stress eating, and binge eating are so prevalent in not just our country, but many places around the world.
You might ask, “Is ending overeating complicated.” Dr. Glenn shares how it’s a LOT simpler than it’s made out to be! He then goes on to share how we can make our own food plan by making 4 categories of rules: Always, Nevers, Conditionals, and Unrestricteds
He frankly and openly shares how he stopped overeating, stress eating, and/or binge eating so that he can help others to do the same – and then stick to ANY diet.
He shares an alternative, albeit controversial approach to eating disorders that has proven itself time and time again.
