Are you in tune with your body? I know for my overall healthy eating I am in tune. Very often I can “read” by body signals when it comes to migraines as well. Little signals I have learned to listen to over the years can be huge if you suffer with migraines. When you are in tune with your body, you will learn even vague symptoms can be a way for you to avert a migraine, and where you can use natural remedies can be a great preventative tool.
Listen to those Body Signals.
Learning to know your body signals can be invaluable. You can learn to know your body is “fading” or if you are getting over-tired. You will learn when to call it a day. Sometimes we want to ignore those warning signs because we are enjoying ourselves, but you don’t want to find yourself in the throes of a migraine because you overdid it. If you notice any early warning sign, go and sit in the shade if you are outside, or find a quiet place where you can assess your situation. It may just be time to “call it a night” and go home to rest. Learn to listen to those signs and cues your body is giving you. You will benefit from learning to do that.
Be Aware of What and How You Are Feeling.
Our bodies are great at telling us what we need – if you can recognize your body’s cues. For example, if you are having an outdoor activity, then as often as possible while you are outside, go and find some shade and cool down. Be aware of your body, and do some deep breathing exercises. If you are able to do this, practice some relaxation taking special note of any areas of your body that feel tense, and be sure to relax those areas. Do some neck rolls and neck stretches. Hydrate, and then go back and enjoy your activity.
Here’s to many migraine-free days in your life!

BURRITO BOWL
4 servings
Ingredients
Four 4-ounce boneless, skinless chicken breast cutlets
Pink Himalayan salt and freshly ground black pepper
1/3 cup whole wheat flour
1 1/2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
3/4 cup low-sodium chicken or vegetable broth
1/3 cup sun-dried tomatoes (not packed in oil; not rehydrated), finely chopped or very thinly sliced
1/2 teaspoon finely chopped fresh rosemary
10 ounces white button or cremini (baby bella) mushrooms, sliced
1/3 cup sweet marsala wine
2 teaspoons unsalted butter or ghee
1 to 2 tablespoons roughly chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
Directions
Place the chicken cutlets between 2 pieces of plastic wrap and pound with a meat mallet (or the flat side of a chef’s knife) until about 1/3 inch thick. Sprinkle with 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper.
Put the flour on a medium plate. Heat the oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
Dredge the chicken in the flour to fully coat, shaking off any excess. Add the chicken to the skillet and fry until fully cooked and golden brown, about 4 minutes per side. Transfer to a platter and tent with foil to keep warm.
Add 1/2 cup of the broth, the sun-dried tomatoes and rosemary to any remaining drippings in the skillet and cook, stirring frequently, for 1 minute to plump the tomatoes.
Add the mushrooms, 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper and cook until the mushrooms are soft, about 5 minutes.
Add the marsala wine and bring to a boil.
Add the remaining 1/4 cup broth and the butter and simmer until the butter is fully melted, about 30 seconds.
Spoon the mushroom mixture and sauce over the chicken, sprinkle with the parsley and serve.
Note: Whole wheat pastry flour can be substituted for whole wheat flour.
