As a vegetarian, this is something I am always very conscious about. When you don’t have the added meat as protein, as a vegan or vegetarian, it is essential to get in enough protein every day.
Most health practitioners agree that protein is critical for health. Protein is essential for muscles, bones, organs, enzymes, hormones, etc.

What to avoid if you get migraines. Migraines can be terrible as you well know. The pain, vision problems (including aura), nausea, etc. can be debilitating; especially if they stick around for hours or even days.
During my the worse migraine years of my life, I would be incapacitated for days at a time. It was nothing for my migraines to go on for 4 to 5 days. Of course, I had to work through some of the worse migraine days as I just couldn’t take that much time off work. I am sure you can totally relate to that. It’s a dilemma for sure when you have a full-time job to worry about as well.

10 Easy Steps to Jump Start Your Weight Loss
We all want to lose weight quickly, don’t we? So here are 10 easy steps to jump start your weight loss.
While everyone may want to lose weight quickly and there are ways to help (like the ones I am sharing below), I am here to tell you that there is no magic pill that can make you thin in a month. Trust me, I’ve tried it! You can certainly lose a substantial amount of weight in a month, but it is not sustainable if you are not going to continue on with a healthy eating pattern. I learned that the hard way. I am the queen of fad diets and yo-yo dieting. I am a life time member of one of those most famous diets. Yet, I found I lost the weight and put it right back on after I stopped – even when I was on some type of maintenance plan. I was always down on myself; certain I just didn’t have the willpower to keep on going and not gain more weight.
However, there are several ways that you can jump-start your weight loss by increasing your metabolism. So I am going to share 10 of them with you in this blog post.
1. Keep yourself hydrated:
The Dirty Dozen of Migraines!
What is it that gets “under your skin” with the things people nonchalantly say about migraines or when you yourself are suffering with one?
Since June is Migraine Awareness Month, perhaps you will have more of an opportunity address some of the things people (may unwittingly) say to those of us who suffer with migraines. I am sure you can relate to many of these “dirty dozen” statement. As you think about them, think about how you might respond to someone when you hear these things.
First of all, let’s address the elephant in the room.
It’s as if people think you don’t have a real disease when it comes to migraines, especially since they don’t see the ravages the pain and suffering migraine has caused in your life or see what is going on inside your body. I’m sure many of them don’t mean to be hurtful, but if they could see inside your body and know the toll this disease has had on you and on your life, I am sure they would think differently am su
Is What You Are Eating Giving You A Migraine?
One of the most useful remedies for reducing migraine involves a change to your diet. Certainly for me, that has been the case. After suffering almost daily with migraines ranging anywhere from a 4 to a 9 on the pain scale, one of the biggest life changes I made was to my diet. This resulted in a drastic change to my migraine patterns. Make no mistake though, it wasn’t just about the food. Certainly there were other natural life changes I made that helped produce today’s result. However, certain foods have been shown to affect the frequency and severity of migraines and migraine pain.
How to Get Past a Bad Junk Food Day
If you are trying to eat healthily, there are a few things you either will realize, or already have. First, it is no longer about low fat and low carbs – this simplistic equation just won’t cut it. Nutrition is every bit a science, so it is important that you understand it first. It is crucial that you let go of false beliefs, stop trusting the myths, and quit counting calories.
The second thing is that it is not about eating certain things and avoiding eating others; it is about a lifestyle change. When you decide to eat clean, healthy, natural foods and remove things that do not help get you where you want to be, you make a pledge to yourself that you will do things that will help in the long-term and make you feel good inside, instead of giving you short-term highs and lows.
Quick Lunch Options for Your Work Week
For a great majority, lunchtime can be a real challenge when you want to keep your food choices healthy. There are tantalizing treats scattered throughout your office break room and your desk is in close proximity to the vending machines or break room, causing you to be even more easily tempted.
By now, you know that I am a huge proponent for pre-planning and batch cooking. Why? Mostly because if I didn’t have the healthy foods ready to go, I would much more easily succumb to the temptation of sweets and unhealthy options surrounding me. But, when I have the good, healthy options available to me and ready to go, I am much more likely to achieve success.
Let’s face it, temptation surrounds you and can veer you off of your path quickly, leaving you feeling disappointed and defeated. To avoid these negative feelings, it’s crucial to be proactive about your meals for the work week.
