Until I was in my 50’s, my life was filled with sickness, disease and debilitating anxiety. I was a yo-yo dieter, addicted to sugar and constantly fatigued. I suffered from chronic migraines, immune and hormone imbalances, IBS and digestive health issues.
As nasty as all of that was, this was the worst part: the weight kept creeping on, the wrinkles were getting deeper and the mid-life hormones were kicking in. At my lowest, I hated looking in the mirror. What I saw there made me feel old, fat, depressed and hopeless. I was miserable.
By that point, I was a dieting refugee.
If you’re anything like me, you’ve tried all kinds of them yourself. The one that stands out for me most is the “Cabbage Soup Diet!” If you did this one too, you’ll undoubtedly remember it since that was ALL we ate! Cabbage, cabbage and more cabbage. I probably even smelled like a walking cabbage. And I’ll bet it worked for you too if you had the determination to stick with it for a while and pull yourself out of the loo long enough to check the scale.
People, however, cannot live on cabbage alone, so the regimen was entirely unsustainable.
What happened when you went off the Cabbage and added other food options in? The same thing that happens when we go on a diet, stick with it for a bit and then, when it’s impossible to live our lives feeling deprived and unsatisfied, we ‘fall off the wagon,’ resume our old habits – and the weight creeps back again – taking its toll on our bodies, as well as on our confidence. We’ve failed yet another attempt to reach our health goals.
Until one day, I’d finally had ENOUGH.
I was determined to break the cycle of insanity, embarking on my own journey to improved health and wellness. It was a gradual process but I learned all I could about holistic, natural remedies and making wiser, healthier lifestyle choices.
I decided that I was no longer living to eat, but eating to LIVE. I DECIDED and I was going to life the rest of my days to the absolute fullest. I was done with deprivation and a ‘settle-for’ life.
And it worked!!
… I love sunshine and love living in Florida. I love the warmth we experience here and I love to be at the beach. I enjoy the feel of the sand under my feet, and the feeling of peace and quiet around me while I sit and read on our beautiful white beaches.
Over time and as I became more informed about how to create a sustainable healthy and balanced lifestyle, I radically changed my diet and mindset which dramatically changed the overall health of my mind~body~soul… and my weight. The changes also reduced the frequency and severity of the migraines and digestion issues that had plagued me.
And here’s the BEST part: I even began to LOVE the image in the mirror again. My skin improved. My hair improved. My sleep habits improved. I felt younger and revitalized. I began to love myself again – and that’s a huge thing when you’ve survived the dieting wars.
Focusing on creating a healthy lifestyle rather than dieting made the difference and I can show you how it’ll change your life too.

Upon graduating as a Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in 2014, I became a Certified Holistic Health Coach and Board Certified through the American Association for Drugless Practitioners as well as a Certified Wellness Cooking Instructor. I continue to enroll in naturopathic courses to be able to give my clientele the very best value for their investment with me.
