I hope you had a good Easter weekend. Maybe you had a little extra time off and shared it with family and friends, or got caught up on some of the things you don’t get to in the week. Maybe you even had a family gathering Easter Sunday — and found yourself eating more than you should have! It is so easy on holidays and special occasions to eat more then you intend. This can often leave you feeling bloated, full and miserable!
I am a firm believer in the occasional detox for your body. In fact, I run a great 14 day detox. The cleansing and detoxification effects of a detox can change your body for the better in so many ways. Some of those wonderful benefits include:
  • Determining any hidden food sensitivities that are causing you to hold onto weight.
  • Learning which foods fuel your body, so you can bring your A-game to everything you do!
  • Jump starting your metabolism, so you can release excess weight you may be holding onto.
  • Reducing cravings and hunger for foods that sabotage weight loss.
  • Reducing inflammation and digestive issues, which is the major cause of bloating and many illnesses and disease
  • Reducing stress. As stress melts away, your metabolism will be able to function optimally.
We don’t always have time or are in the situation where we can do a 7 or 14 day cleanse at a particular time. However, if you want a quick and easy way to get rid of the bloat, and you can’t invest time right now in a more inclusive, full-blown-type of detox, but you want to do something that still gives a great way to detoxify after a big meal and maybe a time of binging, then instead, try some of these detoxifying water recipes. Then later, when your schedule allows, give more serious consideration to doing a 14-day detox with me that includes food – not hunger!
Detox water has become popular in recent years. This can be helpful in reaching your detox goals, as well as your healthy weight loss goals. They can also be used as a delicious treat while not spelling failure with your weight loss program. If you are working out, this is a great pick-me-up after a workout. Here are a few recipes for detox water that you might like.
