Are Your Migraines Linked to Gut Issues? In this week’s blog, we are talking about gut health and your gut’s relationship to migraines. I have taught classes on this issue before. Why? Well, I have noticed a direct correlation in my own life between headaches/migraines and gut issues. It’s interesting that there is now new research has shown that migraines may be linked to your gut health.
You may have seen articles and social media posts recently relating to gut issues. We are hearing more and more about this topic lately.
There is now information out there which links the cause of some migraines to “gut hyperpermeability” (higher than normal permeability of the gut or a blood vessel — permeability being how easily liquid and gas passes through something). This is a condition that has also been dubbed as “leaky gut syndrome.”
5 Foods That Naturally Detox The Body – We are inundated on a daily basis with toxins we cannot avoid. The world we live in is toxic, the air we breathe is full of pollution, our water is not 100% clean. Fortunately, there are many things we can avoid and control when it comes to what enters our bodies. Choosing to fuel ourselves with foods that naturally fight toxins is an essential step in decreasing our toxic load.
4 Signs You Might Have a Food Sensitivity: When it comes to food allergies, making a diagnosis is pretty black and white. The typical allergic reaction occurs immediately after you ingest a certain food, and the symptoms—often a rash, hives, or swelling—are unmistakable.
But food sensitivities are a much sneakier sort. In many cases, symptoms don’t occur until several hours or even days after you eat a problematic food, and even then, they can be vague and difficult to link to your diet.
4 Biggest Detox Myths Debunked: Here in the United States, people are still having severe storms and flooding, and other parts of the world are having strange weather patterns too. Here in Florida we are in the typical summer pattern – hot, humid and often stormy! Sometimes at this time of year, if you are an outdoor physical activity-type person, it can be hard to get out in the heat, humidity or stormy weather, so when the days are good we should take advantage of it. When our days are not so good, then it’s time to plan other types of physical activity indoors or at the gym. I was reading a friend’s Facebook post recently where she posted a beautiful picture of where she had just been for a two mile walk and she was saying how hard it was to make the effort – excuses always seem to get in the way – I’m too busy, it’s too hot, etc. It’s hard to make the “attitude adjustment” we need to make sometimes, but the results are rewarding. I don’t know about you, but I feel so much more energized and healthier when I incorporate exercise into my daily/weekly routine.
